Bolsover District Council partnered with The Future Fox developed a game-based feature for the digital engagement platform, PlaceBuilder. The platform enables users to create their ideal town and are encouraged to achieve a balanced budget. This work brings communities into the challenging discussions on the trade-offs in designing new developments, via a fun, 5-minute experience on their mobile phones.
The tool aims to help residents of Shirebrook choose what new things should be included in any growth plans, by designing an imaginary part of town, and explore the trade-offs when doing so. This was accompanied with a virtual reality tour of the consultation area in partnership with Digital Urban.
