Local Government Reorganisation Digital and Cyber Playbook

The Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) Digital and Cyber Playbook brings together practical guidance, tools, case studies and templates to help councils plan and deliver the digital, data, technology and cyber elements of reorganisation.

It supports councils to prepare for day one (vesting day), reduce risk, and shape the new authority.

This is a live resource, developed with councils and sector partners, and updated as new learning emerges.

The Playbook is shaped by councils that have lived through reorganisation, as well as those preparing for it. Content is also supported by sector partners, including the Local Government Association (LGA), building on existing expertise and proven approaches.

Our roadmap shares the new content that will be added in future releases.

Contributions are welcome from anyone involved in LGR, including:

  • councils with lessons learned or templates from previous unitarisations
  • teams currently working through reorganisation
  • suppliers supporting councils through the transition
