Rutland County Council
Rutland County Council is developing a MyAccount functionality and it is clear from benchmarking that most Councils cannot replicate the same level of customer service in making a payment as experiences with online retailers such as Amazon.
As with many Councils most of our services are not linked to payments at the point of service request and need to be paid separately. We want to develop a concept of a ‘Basket’ for taking payments that allows customers to interact with a MyAccount type website make interactions to build up a basket of services, pay for those services in one go that allows all these services to be paid.
We would seek to build a product linked to .GOV.UK Pay to provide a new user journey that is good customer service, reduces the number of payments made but integrates with back office applications in particular for our Use Case Salesforce CRM. Building on work carried out for Green Waste Collection we would build with online solutions such as GoCardless and Braintree and offer a prototype for how integrated payments can be delivered within a public sector environment and how .GOV.Uk Pay can be a solution that meets the different needs of customers and the public sector.
Discovery evidence
We are currently developing a MyAccount function and have activities that require a payment and what to develop a solution that is as easy to use as an Amazon payment process.
