Outcome of Expression of Interest: Not shortlisted

Using Robotic and Process Automation (RPA) Technology to improve social care assessment processes, increase service user satisfaction and reduce costs.

We want to explore whether by utilising  RPA technology we can increase user satisfaction, achieve reductions in the overall adult social care budget and reduce the number of staff required to support the delivery of social care.

Using co-design and agile service design techniques we propose to blueprint 5 key social care processes, identifying existing customer contact points, pain points and opportunities for improvement.   We will then consider how these can be streamlined or improved through the utilisation of RPA and other innovative technology.

To complete the Discovery Study, we will establish a Service Design Team, which consists of a mix of service users, carers, staff members, health colleagues and other key stakeholders. We will then provide facilitative support to undertake a series of Sprints to capture existing processes and then to develop opportunities for service improvement.

We will work with digital transformation partner, Agilisys.  Agilisys works with public sector organisations across the UK and are experienced in involving citizens in service improvement, agile design techniques and the effective deployment of RPA technology.

Our aim is to achieve a 5% reduction in social care staffing costs and to reduce significantly the overall cost of adult social care by April 2020.
