System Rationalisation

Local Authorities deliver numerous and varied services, and as a result have multiple back office systems supporting the delivery of these services. Customers information exist in multiple systems and the standards are not consistent across these sets of data. There is some transfer of data between systems, mostly by manual process. Data accuracy can be impacted where manual transfers occur.

What we want to do:

• Great Yarmouth is striving to identify an approach to system rationalisation of legacy systems
• Conduct business analysis to better understand our data sets and identify primary data sets
• Develop data standards to ensure consistency and accuracy of data

We would produce:

• A strategy and approach to system rationalisation that could be adopted by other Local Authorities
• Data standards that can be shared and adopted by other Local Authorities
