Fraud in Local Government is a growing problem which is estimated to cost between £2.2 Billion and £4 Billion annually. We would like to establish a Counter Fraud Hub using Plymouth City Councils current IT case management system and qualified investigators. Most of Devon currently has no counter fraud coverage and the intention is to establish a consistent and effective counter fraud response across the 4th largest county in England by extending the current IT and processes across the whole area. This will also enable analysis to assist future prevention.
