Southampton City Council aimed to introduce the use of a 3D model to help local residents understand what proposals may look like in situ and hopefully ease concerns about increased densities.
Building on the success of the pilot consultation in 2021 using ‘Bang The Table’ as part of Round 1 of the PropTech Innovation Fund, the council aimed to integrate 3D model images and videos into the consultation platform which were developed in partnership with VU City.
Through embedding 3D model images into their consultation platform the council were able to increase the public’s accessibility and understanding of proposals to help support site and tall building policies.
