Children’s Services Transformation Innovation Workshop

LGiU’s State of Local Government Finance survey 2018 alarmingly found that Children’s Services is now the top immediate pressure for councils, ahead of Adult Social Care for the first time in at least three years. Many councils are struggling to shield these services from the worst of the ongoing budget cuts in local government.

We already have over 10 local authorities from across the UK signed-up, and they include Councillors, Head of and Directors of Services so we do hope you can join the conversation too.

We will be bringing together local government and tech industry representatives for a problem-led workshop. This follows a previous roundtable on these issues, which highlighted the need for a focus on solutions.

It will be an interactive session with delegates working in groups reviewing challenges that cut across key areas of Children’s Services provision from greater collaboration across public services to improved data sharing. Attendees will review the problem statements and together explore potential solutions and what new products and services to help manage demand on children services and support prevention strategies. We will be circulating the problem statements in advance of the session so attendees will have enough time to review and come prepared with their ideas.
