As part of Round 2 of the fund, Havant Borough Council trailed their first digital community engagement pilot aiming to transform their community engagement approach. Partnering with CitizenLab the council aimed to gather feedback from the local community in play area design to support refurbishing sites to increase and encourage uptake and usage of play areas.
The pilot trialled new ways of gathering feedback to co-design two play areas that will be undergoing refurbishment through Community Infrastructure Levy funding as well as supporting one of the authorities strategic priorities in tackling childhood obesity, improving childhood mental wellbeing and creating inclusive play spaces in the borough.
