​​The Warning, Advice and Reporting Point (WARP) meetings bring together information security, assurance, and governance practitioners from local government.

Members of the MHCLG Local Digital team regularly attend WARP meetings to:

• provide updates on the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) for local government
• gather feedback from WARP members on how the service can be improved

The WARPs are a great way to receive and share up-to-date advice and information on security threats, incidents, and solutions in a trusted environment.

Set your scope guidance

We recently updated the Set your scope pages following feedback from our pilot councils:

• Set your scope - updated the estimated timescales for this stage to 35 to 40 hours

• Identify your essential services - added guidance on evaluating the consequences of cyber incidents

• Identify your critical systems - updated the list of examples of critical systems, and guidance on considering commercial and shared services and systems

• Prioritise your critical systems - added guidance on rating the criticality of your critical systems, including a link to download a categorisation template

• Complete a Business Impact Assessments (BIA) - a new page on how to use a BIA to evaluate the potential consequences of cyber incidents on your business operations
